A very very special thank you to the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for all their help. We were able to get everything fully operational again!
Welcome to Christmas in Cruces 2008! This year's display is much larger and more complex than last year. We have added many new elements as well as new songs. To view pictures and videos, learn what it takes to make this happen, and other related facts, please click on the buttons to the left.
The 2007 display (our first year of animating) had 48 channels of computer controlled animation, this year we have 144! In addition, there are more than 65,000 lights dancing to 14 songs.
Something new this year is the addition of a donation box. We are accepting donations for the Las Cruces Cub Scouts Pack 179. 100% of all donations will be given to our local Cub Scouts at the end of the season. The Cub Ccouts are giving 100% of all the money collected up until December 15th to less fortunate families in Las Cruces to help them have a better Christmas. You can click here to see how much money has been collected so far. Please help us support our local scouts and the great things they do for our youth.
Every Friday and Saturday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 we will be outside to answer any questions. In addition, we will be passing out free candy canes to the kids. Feel free to come up and talk to us, we would love to hear what you think of the display.
BE SURE TO TUNE YOUR CAR RADIO TO
95.9 FM
We want you to enjoy the show, but ask that you respect a few rules for everyone's enjoyment.
1. Please do not block our neighbor's driveways or use them to turn around. We have a great community and want to keep everyone happy.
2. When parked, please turn off your headlights. If you would like, keep your parking lights on so other cars can see you. Headlights are very distracting to other viewers.
3. Please keep your radio down to a respectable level. We are using FM radio to keep the noise down.
4. When parking, be aware of other viewers. There is plenty of parking on the other side of Jornada. Parking in front of our house is discouraged as it blocks the view of others.
5. If you would like to donate, please use the donation box at the front of the display. Under no circumstances should you enter the display area. There is an extremely large amount of extension cords, cables, wires, stakes, and high voltage controllers througout the entire display. These things are very hard to see at night and can be very dangerous.
6. If you decide to get out of your vehicle, please be careful of other traffic. Jornada can become a busy street and it is very dark in this area. Please watch your children.
7. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the display. We wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!
